I am a trained mediator and a licensed clinical social worker with experience working with individuals, couples and families in legal and mental health settings.

In 1994, I graduated from Boston College Law School and for over a decade practiced as an attorney in business and family law. I found myself drawn to counseling and offering support to those who are going through a difficult time - listening to their personal stories and helping them find the best possible outcomes to preserve relationships, not the "bottom line."  I found that I was at my best when I was doing the work that I enjoyed the most. This recognition of my strengths and interests led to me to change direction and turn to the fields of clinical social work and mediation.  I returned to school and received a Masters in Social Work degree and became trained as a divorce mediator.

As a mediator and a therapist I see people who are going through a difficult time in their lives.  My clients are often dealing with personal losses, anxiety about the present and the future, sadness or fear, or the realization that life is moving in a new unchartered direction. It takes courage to ask for guidance, to place trust in someone, to ask for help. It is my goal to honor the people who come to my office by listening to their stories, helping them find solutions that fit their lives, nurturing their strenghts and building skills to help them change and grow. My style is client-centered and I use an eclectic approach that includes cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy and family systems therapy.

For over a decade, I served as a certified instructor for the Parents Apart, a court-approved program for divorcing parents.  In my practice, I work with many parents who seek advice for developing parenting plans and making the best decisions for their children during divorce, who seek assistance with resolving co-parenting issues and/or disputes during or post divorce, or who simply want to get support and coaching on how to be more effective parents.
